Calculation basis and expert estimate: The calculator automatically scales absence days based on the number of employees (Finnish average approx. 8 days per employee per year), but you can adjust the values based on your organization’s own data.
Cost estimates: The cost of one absence day (€350) and one work hour (€45) is based on commonly used estimates that take into account salary-related costs, administration and lost work time.
Impact estimate: The calculator is based on a simplified model and international observations on workplace disruptions and their impact. Improving ways of working can reduce these situations, but the effect varies significantly between organizations. In some studies, the impact has been roughly in the 10–30% range. The calculator illustrates the scale of the effect, not an exact prediction.
