Workplace disruptions and threat situations have a direct effect on operational capability and the bottom line. Key figures from Finland and the EU below.


30,000 incidents per year. Finland records around 30,000 workplace violence incidents each year. The real figure is higher – many situations go unreported.

€480M – €1.2bn. Lost work resulting from disruptions and violence costs Finnish companies hundreds of millions of euros each year. At the upper end, over a billion.

46 percent. Almost half of EU workplaces have no clear procedure for handling threatening situations.

Psychological strain. Threatening situations show up in sick leave and reduced wellbeing even when no physical harm is done.
